Eatrenalin

Fine Dining Meets Immersion
A fine dining restaurant at Europa-Park Rust where guests enjoy an eight-course menu while seated in self-driving floating chairs that guide them through 11 thematically staged rooms such as lounge, ocean, and bar. Multimedia projections, soundscapes, scents, and tactile elements interact with each course and engage all the senses.

Project Contribution

When I joined this project, it was still in its early stages. The core brand elements such as logo, font, and colors were defined, but the visual language, key visuals, and overall brand experience had yet to be envisioned. I was responsible for shaping the motion branding, website experience, and media assets from concept to execution.

Motion Branding & Website
Created motion design and an immersive scroll-based website that mirrors the sensory dining journey and builds anticipation.

Visual Identity & Concept
Developed key visuals using abstract 3D spheres to spark imagination and preserve the mystery of the experience.

Media & Guest Engagement
Produced teaser videos, trailers, and the concept of a welcome video ticket to emotionally connect guests before the actual experience.

The Challenge

Two CEOs were involved, one from themed entertainment and one from the restaurant industry. The concept aimed to deliver a multi-room dining experience without guests leaving their seats, using moving chairs whose mechanics were kept secret. With no chefs yet onboard and no concrete food concept, I was tasked with visualizing abstract dishes and crafting a sensory experience that would spark curiosity while preserving the mystery.

This approach extended to the website, where I was responsible for ensuring that the content flows smoothly without interruptions. I focused on keeping all media lightweight and maintaining a consistent look and feel that stayed true to the branding, avoiding any visual shifts that could break the immersive experience. The site teased the atmosphere, hinted at the multi-sensory concept, and invited guests to imagine what awaits while keeping the overall experience mysterious and emotionally engaging.

The transformation from expectation to reality

I contributed to shaping how Eatrenalin plays with perception. What begins as a refined dinner gradually transforms into a choreographed sequence of immersive spaces, sounds, and abstract visuals. My work supported this transformation by crafting visual elements that maintain mystery while guiding the audience through an evolving sensory narrative. Rather than revealing everything upfront, the experience unfolds moment by moment—turning initial expectations into emotional and multisensory surprise.

Guiding Perception Through a Visual Core

I developed the abstract 3D sphere as the central key visual for Eatrenalin. It represents the unknown that gradually unfolds throughout the experience. Its form, texture, and motion reflect the layered nature of the journey – mysterious, sensory, and open to interpretation. Without revealing specific content or spaces, the sphere evokes curiosity and invites guests to imagine what lies beneath the surface.

Hundreds of sketches and visual studies were created to define the visual language. The initial concept phase took place in close collaboration with the two CEOs. In a later, more focused process with the core leadership team, we selected specific spheres tailored to each themed room.

Early test versions were distributed to various teams: lightweight web formats for developers, 4K assets for the video production team, and high-resolution 16K versions for use in theme park testing. Together with the video team, I led the implementation of the sphere in combination with real video footage and developed the overall visual concept for all motion content.

I also had the opportunity to personally experience the restaurant during several early test runs, providing feedback from a guest's perspective – a crucial contribution to refining the experience both visually and emotionally.
